"Passing Rain" - Soft Pastel Painting

This is my latest creation titled "Passing Rain". It's an 18"x24" soft pastel on prepared gatorfoam (a violet and green acrylic under-painting with a pumice mixture on top). The brands of pastels I used were primarily Terry Ludwig's, Schmincke, Great American's, and Girault's. Click on the photo for a higher resolution image.

David, this is lovely. I just started working with pastels. I usually work in watercolor. They require much patience to achieve good results. Of course, design is really everything, and you have it!

I love rain. I would like to die to the the beautiful sound of rain falling. Well, if the weather does not cooperate there is always your overwhelmingly, beautiful painting.
The essence of nature is in your work. It's masterful. laurel
