The Astoria-Megler Bridge

With the fog rolling in - I was able to get some wonderful captures of this magnificent bridge!

The Astoria-Megler Bridge, which was formally dedicated August 27, 1966, stretches 4.1 miles from Astoria, Oregon, across the mouth of the Columbia River, to Point Ellice, Washington. Its construction was an impressive feat. The bridge’s main span is 1,232 feet in length, the longest “continuous truss” in North America.

My family and I took the opportunity to cross her in June. Foggy, wouldn't you know.

I recall crossing it with my family when it was new, BTW.

Thanks for these great photos, David!

So interesting David! I love it that you notice these striking scenes, take the trouble to record them, and share them with us.

Gorgeous images! They are outstanding.

I was going to google the Columbia River to research the area. I want so badly to live by water when we retire. I live in Kansas. We are looking into Oregon and Washington. We've never been, but want to travel there in the next year. After seeing your photos, I want to come asap!

Oh David, I am so in love with the first and second images where the bridge dips down level and seems to go on and on. Awesome. Hope you are well, these are fab.
