I had the pleasure of attending my first balloon rally last weekend in Prosser, Washington. All I can say is that it's an explosion of color that everyone should enjoy. The following are just a few of the photos I took at the rally.
Ballooning in Prosser started 20 years ago when balloon pilot Ted Wirch came to town to give his in-laws a balloon ride. During Ted's flight over Prosser he realized just what a beautiful place Prosser really is. He decided there and then that he had to tell other balloonist about the great flying there was to be had in the skies over Prosser.

My dream for years has been to take a hot air balloon ride. I came real close once at 3:30am in Bozeman Montana in the 70's. The wind came up and the dream deflated. I'm not giving up though. Your beautiful photos renewed my resolve although this may be as close as I come for a while yet. Thanks for sharing. Must have been a thrilling adventure. Blueskies~ Pat Meras
What's funny is that I grew up in the Yakima Valley, near Prosser and I never witnessed the hot air balloons there. These pictures make me want to visit my home again and experience this wonderful event, thanks so much for the great shots!
